Welcome to John Shrehane – Fine Art. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all purchases made through www.johnshrehane.art and direct purchase invoicing. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before completing a purchase.
1. About John Shrehane – Fine Art
All artwork, prints, and commissions are created and sold under the trading name John Shrehane – Fine Art.
Certain services — including printing, framing, packaging, and delivery — may be fulfilled in partnership with trusted third parties to maintain high professional standards.

2. Artwork and Description

Each artwork is produced with care and attention to detail.

Colours may appear differently on screen due to variations in display settings.

All measurements and descriptions are provided as accurately as possible, though minor variations may occur.

Copyright and moral rights remain with the artist (see Section 7).
3. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.

Payment is required in full at the time of order, unless otherwise agreed for commissioned work (see Section 6).

Secure online payment methods are available at checkout.

Prices may change at any time, but confirmed orders will not be affected.

All prices are listed and payable in GBP (£). Where payment is made in another currency, any exchange rate fees or bank charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

The full invoice amount, as stated in GBP, must be received in cleared funds before artwork is dispatched.
4. Shipping and Delivery

Artwork is available for delivery within the UK and internationally.

Standard delivery times are typically 5–7 working days from dispatch, though times may vary depending on location and carrier.

Tracking information will be provided if available.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees applied upon delivery.
5. Returns and Refunds
Every effort is made to ensure artworks are received in perfect condition. If, however, there is any issue:

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt of order.

Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, unless the artwork arrives damaged or defective.

Refunds are processed once the returned item has been received and inspected.

Commissioned artworks are non-refundable, due to their personalised nature.
If an item arrives damaged, please make contact within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the damage so the issue can be reviewed and resolved.
6. Commissions
Commissioned artworks are created through discussion and mutual agreement to ensure the final piece meets the intended vision.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the commission.

The remaining 50% is payable upon completion, before dispatch.

Estimated timelines will be discussed prior to starting the project.

Small adjustments can be made during the creative process; significant changes after approval may incur additional charges.

Commissions that fall outside the artist’s usual style or scope may be declined.
7. Copyright and Usage Rights

Copyright and moral rights for all artworks, including commissioned pieces, remain with John Shrehane.

Purchase of an artwork grants ownership of the physical piece only.

The artwork is intended for personal enjoyment and display in private spaces.

Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is not permitted without written consent.

Images of artworks, including commissions, may be used for promotional purposes (for example, on the website, social media, or in exhibitions) unless otherwise agreed in writing before creation begins.
8. Cancellations

Orders for non-commissioned artworks may be cancelled prior to dispatch for a full refund.

Commission orders may be cancelled before work has commenced; in such cases, the deposit will be retained to cover preparation and material costs.
9. Framing and Packaging

All artwork is mounted on archival-quality backing board as standard to ensure longevity.

Framing can be arranged at an additional cost upon request.

Framing and packaging may be completed by approved third-party providers to ensure a professional finish.

Artwork is packaged securely and shipped via insured courier services to protect it in transit.

Upon delivery, please inspect the package carefully before accepting it. If any damage is visible, it should be noted with the courier at the time of delivery and documented (for example, by taking photos) to support an insurance claim.

Responsibility cannot be accepted for any damage that cannot be supported by courier inspection notes or photographic evidence once the artwork has left the studio or the care of a trusted partner.
10. Artist’s Rights Statement
All artworks are protected by copyright law.
John Shrehane retains full moral and intellectual property rights, including the right to be identified as the artist and to preserve the integrity of the work.
No reproduction, resale, or use of artwork images for promotional, editorial, or commercial purposes is permitted without prior written consent.
11. Limitation of Liability
No responsibility can be accepted for delays or damage caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as postal disruptions, customs delays, or third-party service issues.
Any liability arising from a purchase will not exceed the total amount paid for the artwork concerned.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal information (such as name, email, and delivery details) is collected solely for the purpose of processing and delivering orders.
All personal data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR and will never be sold or shared with third parties except where required to fulfil an order, such as delivery or payment services.

13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
